The annual Hastings College Mural Competition is a day of artistic creation, collaboration and competition for high school students in the beautiful Jackson Dinsdale Art Center (JDAC).

The fifth annual event is scheduled for Wednesday, October 7, 2020, but we’re going to make this year’s event a virtual competition so high schools can avoid extra travel and contact this fall.

This means your students can participate right from your classroom! Hastings College will still provide primary paint colors and the mural surface — 36” x 76” vinyl banner. (These will be sent about a week ahead of time.)

Each school’s art team can consist of 2 to 6 most promising art students who will compete against other schools by painting a 36” x 76” vinyl mural according to the theme announced at the beginning of the competition.

Registration is due September 9! Only one team per school this year — and 40 schools maximum. So register early!

Overview of the Virtual Mural Competition

Each registered school will receive a Zoom invite for the event. All schools will log into the event for a LIVE presentation from Hastings College campus.
