Hastings College Sings!

If you love to sing, as a Hastings College student — no matter your major —  Hastings College Music has a number of outstanding ensembles, world-class conductors and exciting activities for you! All ensembles are open to all students, right away your first year, and scholarships are available to active participants.

We believe that songs of all sorts and music of every kind should be included in your choral experience. So we sing a rich and varied repertoire — everything from masterworks and sacred and secular songs both a cappella and accompanied, to vocal jazz and Broadway, to madrigals and contemporary a cappella song stylings.

Ensembles at Hastings

The Hastings College Choir
“It’s like being in the All-State Choir every single day!” noted one member of our flagship mixed-voice ensemble — and it’s true! Since 1882 we’ve been singing America’s favorite songs of faith and laughter and love to world-wide acclaim. Membership in The Hastings College Choir is open to all students by audition, which is held during the first week of classes each semester. Check out a playlist on YouTube or click ‘play’ above. The Choir is directed by Dr. Brett Epperson, brett.epperson@hastings.edu.

Hastings College Choral Union
The Hastings College Choral Union is a is open to all students on campus, and no audition is required. It performs a variety of musical styles multiple times per year. The Choral Union also “expands” every few years to include alumni, community members, high school singers, guest soloists and conductors for a massed-choir production of Handel’s Messiah, a long-running holiday tradition. You can view the most recent production here.
