Our student music organizations are active and involved!

The life of a student musician involves academics and music-making, of course, but it is also social, professional, inspirational, service-oriented and often just plain fun! Student music organizations have a long tradition at Hastings College, playing an important role at the heart of the life of our music  community.

National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS)
Our student chapter of NATS, known as SNATS, encourages its members to discuss, participate, practice and learn more about voice teaching as a profession. It’s a great way to grow your knowledge and understanding while enjoying member benefits of NATS. For more information, contact the local chapter.

National Association for Music Education (NAfME)
The award-winning Hastings College NAfME student chapter is comprised of future music educators who have the opportunity to share ideas and insights with each other and with music teachers who are currently active in the field. As a student member, you’ll share in hosting statewide outreach activities on campus, attend the Nebraska Music Educators Conference on a yearly basis and even attend regional and national conventions and workshops addressing issues of concern to music education.

Nebraska Music Teachers Association (NMTA)
The Hastings College student chapter of NMTA provides educational, musical, social and professional experiences to augment your regular academic course of music study. As a member, you’ll become acquainted with professional opportunities and career options in the field of music, and develop your professional leadership skills. Student membership is open to any Hastings College music student. The local chapter meets during the year and sponsors professional activities and projects for its members as well as to benefit the Department of Music.
