Hastings College Brass Day

The Hastings College Brass Day is an opportunity for high school brass players, soloists and brass ensembles as they prepare for their District Music Contests. Participants will join Seraph Brass and the Cathedral Brass in a mass brass ensemble during their concert that evening.

2026 Brass Day Details

This year’s Brass Day is Wednesday, March 18, 2026, on the beautiful Hastings College campus! There is no cost to attend Brass Day, and the concert is free and open to the public.

All events are at First Presbyterian Church of Hastings (621 N. Lincoln Ave. Hastings, NE).

10:00 am – Registration
10:30 am – Welcome, Intros, Teaser Performance
11:00 am – Warmup/Technique Class
12:00 pm – Lunch
1:00 pm – Student Brass Ensemble Coaching
2:30 pm – Student Solo Coaching
4:00 pm – Break
4:30 pm – Mass Brass Rehearsal
5:30 pm – Dinner Break (on your own)

7:30 pm – Concert featuring Seraph Brass, Cathedral Brass and Brass Day Ensemble
