Do you have an interesting and significant research question to explore? Are you interested in presenting your research at a competitive national conference in your discipline or publishing it in a competitive journal in your discipline? Did you always want to learn about a topic that is not taught at Hastings College? Do you want to position yourself to be more competitive for post-graduate opportunities?

If so, an Excelsior Fund Grant may be the perfect step toward turning your research project into a vehicle to carry you ever upward. Awards are typically between $1,500 and $2,500; in addition, a maximum of $1,500 will be for out-of-pocket costs and/or travel and conference fees. Requests for awards of more than $2,500 are considered by the selection committee with appropriate explanation and justification.

This is a great opportunity for Hastings students, and should you choose to apply for a research grant, you’ll work in conjunction with at least one faculty sponsor who oversees the project.
