Psychology majors ask big questions
As a Psychology major at Hastings College, you’ll ask big questions about the human experience — and learn the scientific tools needed to explore them.
Guided by professors with a variety of specialties, you’ll experience a broad range of disciplines while tailoring your coursework to areas you find most intriguing. Along the way, you’ll develop the curiosity and research skills that drive psychologists: writing proposals, conducting experiments, analyzing data and sharing results through professional writing.
You’ll also gain experience with advanced technology, including data analysis software, and learn how to navigate the vast body of psychological knowledge to make discoveries with real-world implications for therapy, education, business, healthcare, law and personal relationships.
In addition to engaging introductory and general-interest courses (such as neuroscience and statistics), you can explore specialized courses in psychopathology, health psychology, animal behavior and cognition, counseling techniques and adolescent development, and nature technology and human development.
