Hastings College’s Phi Omega Chapter of Lambda Pi Eta, the collegiate communication honor society, inducted six students recently.

Lambda Pi Eta’s mission involves promoting academic excellence in communication studies, fostering interest in the communication field, facilitating discussions and exchanges of ideas, and building strong relationships between faculty and students.
To be eligible for Lambda Pi Eta, students must complete 12 credits in communication courses, complete 60 overall credits, hold a communication GPA of 3.25 or higher, and hold an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher.
This spring’s Lambda Pi Eta inductees are listed below. Officers are noted and were also selected at this year’s induction ceremony.
- Victoria Harris, president, of League City, Texas, is a junior majoring in communication studies and English.
- Cici Velarde of Loveland, Colorado, is a senior majoring in communication studies and marketing.
- Alyssa Currie, vice president, of Lakeland, Florida, is a junior majoring in communication studies and marketing.
- Ember Thoreson, secretary, of Crystal Lake, Illinois, is a junior majoring in communication studies.
- Juana Lucas, treasurer, of Grand Island, Nebraska, is a junior majoring in marketing.
- Angel Lizarraga of Commerce City, Colorado, is a senior majoring in business administration.
