Cross country, volleyball teams and individuals to be inducted into Athletic Hall of Fame

A Bronco Volleyball team which advanced to the 1999 NAIA Volleyball Final Four and the 1992 and 1993 Bronco Men’s Cross Country teams which competed at national meets will be honored on Saturday, October 25, 2014, as Hastings College inducts new members to its Athletic Hall of Fame.

The event will take place at The Lark (809 West 2nd Street, Hastings, Neb.) with the social hour starting at 6 p.m. and the dinner at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 per person and may be purchased by contacting Kendra Bargen at 402.461.7363 or kbargen@hastings.edu.

Other inductees to be honored for individual achievements include the following:

Staci (Lang) Bornschlegl ’98 of Lincoln, Nebraska, for Volleyball

Shannon (McQuillan) Cooper ’00 of Omaha, Nebraska, for Volleyball

Jeff Novotny ’95 of Council Bluffs, Iowa, for Cross Country and Track

Kris (Wingbinger) Rivera ’96 of Fort Collins, Colorado, for Cross Country and Track

Brent Breckner ’03 of Doniphan, Nebraska, will be honored the Hastings College Alumni Association 2014 Outstanding Alumni Coach.

In 1989, Hastings College established its Athletic Hall of Fame to honor and preserve the memory of athletes, teams, coaches and those who have contributed meritorious service to Hastings College and its athletic programs. Read the full list of previous inductees.
