The Hastings College chapter of Alpha Chi, the all-discipline collegiate academic honor society, inducted eight students during its recent induction ceremony, which was held in the Gray Center on campus.

The purpose of Alpha Chi is to promote academic excellence and exemplary character among college and university students and to honor those who achieve such distinction. Students from across all academic disciplines who are in the top 10 percent of their class are invited to join.
An additional 12 students were inducted in the fall.
This spring semester Alpha Chi inductees are listed below.
- Cara Ansbach is an elementary education major from Hastings, Nebraska.
- John Backhaus is a finance major from Windsor, Colorado.
- Hadlee Hasselmann is a double major in K-12 physical education and secondary education from Grand Island, Nebraska.
- Bryson Hornbacher is a biochemistry major from York, Nebraska.
- Jackson Howard is a physical education (K-12) major from Gering, Nebraska.
- Ady Mlnarik is an elementary education major from Clearwater, Nebraska.
- Norah Stewart is a biology major from Lincoln, Nebraska.
- Payton Tanner is a business administration and finance major from Littleton, Colorado.
Students with Alpha Chi membership help host campus activities, most notably Academic Showcase, which is Wednesday, April 29 this year.
The Hastings College chapter was established in 1949 by Frank Weyer and Ruth Harris. Weyer was dean of the College at the time and Harris was the librarian.
