Rondall Reynoso

Assistant Professor of Painting

Jackson Dinsdale Art Center

Rondall Reynoso’s artwork has been exhibited in over ninety solo and group exhibitions internationally, in diverse venues ranging from commercial galleries in Manhattan and California to art centers, ecclesiastical spaces, museums, and universities. He has also been profiled and his work reviewed in various journals, newspapers, television, and radio outlets.

His formal abstraction deals heavily with metaphors, both sociological and spiritual, including the exploration of the boundaries between 2D and 3D as a metaphor for the relationship between the corporeal and the spiritual. Reynoso was one of seven North American artists selected by the Nagel Institute to participate in a cross-cultural seminar in Indonesia, from which an international traveling exhibition emerged.

Reynoso’s scholarly and artistic life lies at the often-uncomfortable intersection of studio practice, art history, philosophy, and religious studies. His art historical and religious studies work has been presented at conferences across North America, including The Conference of Faith and History and The American Academy of Religion. His writing has been published in academic and popular publications.

Reynoso is an experienced professor who has taught at several institutions including California College of the Arts, Graduate Theological Union, and Lee University. He studied painting and art history at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY, (BFA, MS, MFA) and is a Ph.D. Candidate in Art & Religion, focusing on art history and aesthetics, at the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, CA.
