The Path to HC program covers 100 percent of tuition when you combine Hastings College scholarships with state and federal aid for first-time, first-year students who qualify for a Pell Grant and attend select high schools.

Many families with an adjusted gross income at or below $60,000 may qualify — and students who live at home will only need to pay student fees of about $1,200 per semester to attend Hastings College.

For best consideration, apply in the fall of your senior year of high school, and send your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) results to Hastings College.

How it Works

For Path to HC students, Hastings College applies federal and state grants to the cost of tuition. We then add a Hastings College academic scholarship, talent scholarship (if applicable) and a subsidized student loan of $3,500. A need-based HC Grant then fills out the award to reach full tuition. Outside scholarships, family resources and/or an unsubsidized federal student loan can be used to pay fees, and room and board should a student choose to live on campus. (Students who reside within 30 miles of campus can receive a housing exemption to live at home.)

How to Renew

To remain eligible for the Path to HC program, students must remain full time Hastings College with a GPA of 2.0 or higher, complete their FAFSA by March 1 each year and remain eligible for a Pell Grant.  The program covers the full cost of tuition after state and federal funds (including the maximum Subsidized Federal Direct Loan eligibility) are applied.  Outside scholarships, family resources and/or an unsubsidized federal student loan can be used to pay fees, and room and board should a student choose to live on campus. (Students who reside within 30 miles of campus can receive a housing exemption to live at home.)
