November 27 festivities at HC include 2012 Lighting of the Campus, musical theatre concert

Kick off the holiday season with songs and a live nativity at Hastings College’s 2012 Lighting of the Campus.  On Tuesday, November 27, the live nativity will be active on the Circle Drive (800 N. Turner Ave.) from 6:30-9 p.m. while the lighting ceremony will begin at 7 p.m. in front of French Memorial Chapel (800 N. Turner Ave.) The evening’s activities, part of the college’s Christmas card to the community, are free and open to the public.

Activities will include carol singing. Following the lighting, participants are invited to take an outdoor luminary walk around campus while enjoying free refreshments and additional entertainment.  Also, children will have the opportunity to have free photos with Santa Claus in the Daugherty Center (716 N. Turner Ave.)

Although the Musical Theatre Ensemble will not be performing holiday music, it will hold a recital on that evening, starting at 8 p.m. in Perkins Auditorium of Fuhr Hall of Music (723 E. 9th Street). This event is also free and open to the public.
