Eboni Nash ‘19 and Gary Freeman ‘93 have been named Outstanding Young Alumni of the Year and Outstanding Alumni of the Year, respectively, by the Hastings College Foundation.
Nash graduated with majors in psychology, religion and sociology. After graduating, she went on to attend Harvard Divinity School where she received her master’s in Theological Studies. She has committed to being an active member of the community, as well as a resource for those in disadvantaged situations, pursuing a mission to abolish and expose oppressive, destructive and socially violent structures that counteract the progression of humanity.
From working at foundations or as a counselor, Nash has created her own consulting firm and is now working for the Anti-Recidivism Coalition. Nash continues to pursue growth and knowledge, embodying the true spirit of Hastings College as a kind, curious and insightful individual, which is the perfect example of what Broncos should strive for.
Freeman graduated from Hastings College with a degree in business administration. He has experience being a certified public accountant, and also earned a certificate in nonprofit leadership from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business.
He served as the executive director of the Hastings College Foundation, where he oversaw all fundraising, advancement and alumni relations activities for nearly 20 years. Freeman was and continues to be a pillar of the Hastings College community through charitable donations and with his time, as he dedicates himself to the Hastings College Board of Trustees.
He has consistently tried to push Hastings College to grow to become a better college and organization due to his own passions. He continues to embody the passion and growth of our community and is a role model for many of us.
The Hastings College Foundation Board selected the alumni award recipients earlier this academic year.
