“The Madwoman of Chaillot”

“The Madwoman of Chaillot” is a satirical fable. Promoters plot to tear up the city in order to unearth the riches they believe are buried beneath it. These plans come to the attention of the neighborhood “madwoman,” the essence of goodness and common sense. Seeing that the world is being turned into an unhappy place by those who are greedy for money and power, she mounts a trial of the unjust. Joy, justice and love return to the world again…so, of course it is a fantasy.
