Hastings College partners with Young Space to host national juried exhibition

The Hastings College Jackson Dinsdale Art Center (JDAC), in collaboration with Kate Mothes of Young Space, welcomes art submissions for a national, juried exhibition March 1-28, 2019. Artists of every career stage and every medium are encouraged to apply, but must live and work in the U.S.

Details on the juried show, including how to submit pieces, can be found at hastings.edu/gallery. There is $20 fee for up to four entries, plus $5 for each additional entry, up to six entries total. Entries are due by Thursday, January 31, 2019.

“I am particularly excited to see Hastings College and the Department of Visual Arts participate in a larger conversation surrounding contemporary, relevant exhibition curation,” said Kevin Mercer, instructor of art and gallery director at Hastings College.

Mercer said the event will expose students to a wide variety of artwork and highlight the JDAC’s world class facilities.

Kate Mothes is founder of Young Space, an independent, online and nomadic curatorial platform emphasizing contemporary art by emerging, early-career and student artists. Mothes is interested in alternative modes of art exhibition, education and experience, with an emphasis on artist-run initiatives. More on Young Space can be found at yngspc.com.
