Hastings College awards scholarships to Crimson Scholars Day participants

On January 22, Hastings College hosted 90 students from 11 states who were on campus as part of Crimson Scholars Day to compete for Hastings College’s top academic scholarship, the Walter Scott Scholarship.

This full-tuition, renewable scholarship was awarded to three students:

  • Megan Dlouhy of Lincoln, Nebraska;
  • Emma Redinger of Hastings, Nebraska; and
  • William Skulley of Westminster, Colorado.

crimson scholar day hcAll other participants received scholarships ranging from $2,000 to $7,000. All are renewable for four years.

To qualify for Crimson Scholars Day, students must earn a score of 26 or higher on the ACT or 1170 or higher on the SAT,  maintain a 3.75 grade point average or higher and be accepted to Hastings College. Students interviewed with Hastings College faculty and staff and were assessed on both their academic and leadership potential.

In addition to the awards below, all participants had already received a $16,000 Crimson Scholarship, which was based on the student’s academic achievement.

  • Walter Scott Scholarship: $11,800
  • Trustee Scholarship: $7,000
  • Dean Scholarship: $2,000 – $4,000
