Flogaites departing HC for NCAA Division I women’s soccer program

As of July 24, 2012, Ted Flogaites, Head Coach for the HC Bronco Women’s Soccer team, will step down to become Head Coach for Women’s Soccer at Western Illinois University, NCAA Division I school.  The search for Flogaites’ replacement will begin immediately.  An interim coach will not be appointed.

“Ted has built the HC Bronco Women’s Soccer team into an NAIA powerhouse.  He has earned this opportunity to coach at the NCAA Division I level,” said Jerry Schmutte, Hastings College Athletic Director.  “Looking ahead, I will immediately begin the search for a new Head Coach for Women’s Soccer.  Although the school year is approaching quickly, the strength of the current program and the overall reputation of HC are such that I am confident we will fill this position soon.”

During his five years at Hastings College, Flogaites led the team to three NAIA National Women’s Soccer Tournament appearances, including a Runner’s Up finish at the 2010 NAIA tournament.  Additionally, the team earned two regular season GPAC titles and two GPAC conference tournament titles.  Five members of the HC Bronco Women’s Soccer team earned All-American honors under his tutelage.  Flogaites, who amassed a 76-22-9 record at HC, was named GPAC Coach of the Year in 2010 and 2011 and NSCAA NAIA Coach of the Year in 2010.
