Bronco Forensics takes first at state competition, Hendrix receives honor

At the 2015 Nebraska Intercollegiate Forensics Association (NIFA) State Tournament, the Hastings College Bronco Forensics team placed first in Division II. With Hastings College and three other Nebraska institutions all perennial top 20 finishers at the national forensics tournament, the NIFA tournament, held this year on February 14 in Seward, Nebraska, is one of the most competitive tournaments in the country.

Additionally, Tommy Hendrix, a junior from Omaha, Nebraska, received the Spirit of NIFA Award. The award is given to two students each year across the state who show leadership, kindness and compassion to others. Last year, Miranda Klugesherz, now a senior from Colorado Springs, Colorado, earned the award.
