Dr. Kittie Grace blew into Hastings College from the cold Minnesota north in 2003. She is a true liberal arts professor as she serves the school as an Associate Dean, plus supports speech, student services and peer education.

Over the last decade years, Grace has taught more than 15 different communication studies classes for the department, including rhetorical criticism, ethnographic research methods and organizational communication. Students describe Grace as “a devoted teacher,” “energetic,” and “an advocate for those who have lesser voices.”

Grace helps coach the Forensics (speech) team, and served as director for many years. The speech team has maintained a national presence and has earned Grace multiple coaching awards from the University of Nebraska–Omaha and Minnesota State University–Mankato. Grace has presented more than 25 papers at multiple national conferences and has nine paper/speech publications.

In her spare time, Grace enjoys reading to her girls with her husband, loves tap dancing and enjoys geocaching with the family.
