Dr. Amanda Solem

Associate Professor of Biology

Office: Morrison-Reeves Science Center 132

Dr. Solem teaches courses such as biochemistry, cell biology, immunology and evolution.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in Biology from Kalamazoo College. After working in a lab at CWRU to see what research was like, she earned her master’s and Ph.D. in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry from Yale University. She did postdoctoral work studying single molecules at Wayne State University and using next generation sequencing to study RNA at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill.

She is particularly entranced by RNA, but finds just about everything interesting.
