Cooper graduated with a BA in Theater-Acting from UCLA’s School of Theatre, Film, & Television in 2011. He then became the Associate Artistic Director of Ark Theatre Company in Los Angeles while also teaching acting classes at Theatre of Arts in downtown Hollywood. He received his MFA in Directing from Baylor University in 2019 and went on to teach movement, musical theatre, and acting courses at Baylor as a Visiting Lecturer.

His professional training includes: The Viewpoints and The Suzuki Method with Anne Bogart & SITI Company as part of their Summer Theater Workshop; Japanese Nō performance at Kyoto Art Center’s Traditional Theater Training; and Lessac Voice Technique with his mentor Dr. Marion Castleberry.

Favorite directing credits include: Ice Glen by Joan Ackermann, The Pillowman by Martin McDonagh, The First Celestial Adventure of Mr. Antipyrine, Fire Extinguisher by Tristan Tzara, Hamlet by William Shakespeare, and Grand Concourse by Heidi Schreck.
