Dr. Beachly teaches courses in biological systems, vertebrate form and function, biological diversity, bioethics, medical terminology and animal behavior.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in zoology, master’s degrees in ecology, and Ph.D. in behavioral ecology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Dr. Beachly has led study abroad trips to Germany, Puerto Rico, Mexico and Honduras. Some of his scientific interests include natural history and behavior of arachnids, physiological effects of venoms, foraging behavior and more. Dr Beachly is sponsor for the Outdoor Club, has taught the science strand for the HC Scholars Academy and teaches geology workshops for the Nebraska Master Naturalist program.
