Dr. Hayley Shoemaker

Adjunct Instructor of Voice

Hayley Shoemaker is a mezzo-soprano originally from northwest Kansas. In 2016, she earned her Bachelor of Music from Fort Hays State University and received her Master of Music Degree from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln in 2019 and recently completed her doctorate in vocal performance at UNL.

She has performed numerous roles around the United States. Most recently, she portrayed the role of Le Prince Charmant in Massenet’s Cendrillon with Opera in the Ozarks. Some other roles include Angelina (La Cenerentola), Penelope (The Return of Ulysses), Dorabella (Così fan tutte), and Rachel (The Highest Yellow).

She also currently serves as a graduate teaching assistant at UNL where she teaches applied voice to music majors and minors. Her students have won many awards at both state and regional levels of the National Association Teachers of Singing Auditions.
