Jed Blodgett is a percussionist and educator from Kennewick, WA with a unique professional portfolio. As a K-12 licensed educator he has pioneered curricula and programs for the Skaggs Catholic Center, Utah Valley University, the Utah Percussive Arts Society, and the Utah Music Educator’s Association. His performance accomplishments range from the Utah Symphony to the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square, and to the folkloric musics of Brazil and the Caribbean. He is both an active artist and clinician on drumset and the pageantry arts, orchestral percussion, commercial music, and jazz. He has given performances and masterclasses throughout the United States at venues including the Tippet Rise Arts Center, the Cathedral of the Madeleine, the University of Florida, and the University of Hartford. He can be heard on Naxos and Hyperion recording labels, and his arrangements and compositions are available through Percussionwise.com and Bachovich Music Publications. Jed’s primary teachers include Benjamin Toth, Rogério Boccato, Ted Piltzecker, Shane Shanahan, Ron Brough, and Jay Lawrence. He holds a D.M.A. from The Hartt School at the University of Hartford, as well as a M.A. and B.M. in Music Education from Brigham Young University.
