Dr. Jamie Martin joined the Teacher Education Department at Hastings College in 2021. She is excited to engage pre-service teachers in critical thinking, and encourage students to understand and question diverse educational theories and beliefs from a deeper perspective. She teaches elementary and special education courses and supervises student teachers.
Over the last twenty years, she has been introduced to diverse educational systems worldwide. A former Fulbright Scholar, she has taught k-12 special education and worked as a district-wide instructional coach in Tennessee. Additionally, she offers a history of implementing innovative programs that foster diversity, equity, and inclusion as a school administrator. Over the past 9 years, she has led American k-12 international schools in China, Bosnian and Herzegovina, and Malta.
Dr. Martin holds a Master of Arts degree in Exceptional Education and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Western Kentucky University.
