COLLEGE INFORMATION: Founded in 1882, Hastings College is an independent four-year, national liberal arts college affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA). Located in the residential area of a friendly, progressive community of 24,000 in south Central Nebraska, the College has an enrollment of 1,150 students with a 12:1 student/faculty ratio. The College is on a 4-1-4 calendar with a January Interim Term. Offering 61 majors in 32 areas of study, 12 pre-professional programs and a personalized program, Hastings College confers Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Music and Master of Arts in Teaching degrees. The College's international exchange program provides opportunities for faculty to teach and students to study in Germany, Holland, England and Ireland.
COMMUNITY INFORMATION: Hastings (pop. 24,000) is an attractive residential community in South-Central Nebraska, 100 miles west of Lincoln, and 15 minutes south of Interstate 80. The city enjoys good public and private schools, offers excellent professional and community services, and serves as a cultural center for a large surrounding area.
