Hastings College has made a commitment to work toward a campus that is free from all discrimination and that celebrates the diversity of its various community members. Hastings College will abide by Nebraska State Legislation and Federal Standards of Campus Crime Reporting as well as expanding areas of discrimination to include perceived sexual orientation, gender identity, mental illness, and socioeconomic status.
The Hastings College Team Against Bias assists and supports students, faculty and staff, who reports discrimination, hate crimes, or bias-motivated incidents based on race, nationality, religion, age, gender, physical ability, mental illness, sexual orientation, perceived sexual orientation, gender identity, or socio-economic class. If a student on campus feels as though he/she is experiencing bias, then you can approach any one of the TAB members for help. The TAB member will report the incident to the committee, which will then make recommendations to the administration.
