Program Overview

Today's graduates are expected to speak, write and present themselves and their ideas more effectively than ever before. Analytical skills are at a premium, as are student's talents for working in a dynamic setting that stresses teamwork and problem solving. Hastings College has combined its programs in communications arts and business administration/economics to help students meet the expectations of employers in the 21st century.

Strengths of the Program
Six majors and six minors allow CABE students to specialize within a liberal arts environment. Each course in the department is structured to involve students in analytical activities including the computer and written and oral communication.

The department offers specific innovative courses in speaking, writing, computer applications and public presentation. This means greater marketability and increased confidence, whether they pursue the job market or graduate school.

Whether a student wants to run a business, report the news, or manage in a nonprofit environment, Hastings College has a program designed with your future in mind. With fully-equipped modern facilities and a caring, dedicated faculty, students will acquire an undergraduate experience that is unique and appropriate for their career interest.

Students have opportunities to participate in the Collegian (student newspaper), KFKX Radio, HCTV Television, Bronco Yearbook, HC World News (website), forensics and other major related student clubs and organization. In addition, they may apply for special skills scholarships in forensics and media production.
