ALL-STATE PREP DAY AT HASTINGS COLLEGE
Here is your chance to check your progress in preparing for All-State Choir auditions!

who:
Nebraska High School singers (Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors). (Also please note: your teacher must be a member of NMEA for you to be eligible to audition for the All-State Choir.)
what:
Preparation for the 2012 All-State Choir auditions.
where:
Fuhr Hall of Music (near Ninth and Ash),
on the Hastings College Campus
when:
Saturday, September 22, 9:00am - noon.
why:
A chance to test your individual preparation by rehearsing the All-State repertoire in a large mixed-voice ensemble.
how:
Pre-registration is required; check with your high school choral director for updated information.
We assume by this time you've already got your music and have been learning your individual parts. This is an opportunity to hear how it all fits together in a large mixed-choir setting (and to see how well you can 'hold your part'). We'll help you identify and isolate "trouble spots" and solutions for your individual voice part, clarify pronunciation issues, and review the guest conductor's preferences for phrasing and interpretation.
As always, Mrs. Ruth Moore (everyone's favorite All-State Choir accompanist), and Dr. Fritz Mountford (who has experience preparing and conducting All-State and festival choirs in thirty-four states and Europe) will be on hand to share their expertise. The atmosphere is informal, Dr. Mountford's rehearsal is fast-paced and unpredictable, and participants always come away saying the experience was invaluable!
Your high school choral director will have received specific pre-registration information at the beginning of the school year, but you can check here for the latest updates. We'll look forward to seeing you for a prompt 9:00am Saturday start (finishing at noon)!
Please note: as always, remember to bring your music with you; we cannot provide individual choral scores. Here is specific publication information about the seven 2012 selections:
