Dr. Kittie Grace
Associate Professor of Communication Studies & Director of Forensics

Dr. Kittie Grace blew into Hastings College from the cold Minnesota north in 2003. She is a true liberal arts professor as she serves the school in speech, music and peer education. Prof. Grace is the Director of Forensics (speech), SAI (Sigma Alpha Iota) Women’s Music Honorary Advisor, and Co-Advisor for the PHIVE-O (Peer HIV Education-Organization).

Over the last seven years, Prof. Grace has taught more than fifteen different communication studies classes for the department including rhetorical criticism, ethnographic research methods, and organizational communication. Students describe Prof. Grace as “a devoted teacher,” “energetic,” and “an advocate for those who have lesser voices.”

As the Director of Forensics, the speech team has maintained a top fifteen national presence and has earned Prof. Grace multiple coaching awards from the University of Nebraska-Omaha and Minnesota State University, Mankato. Prof. Grace has presented over twenty-five papers at multiple national conferences and has five paper/speech publications.

In her spare time, Kittie enjoys reading to her little girl with her husband and loves dancing to Yo Gabba Gabba! in the living room.
