William C. Barrett '77
A Hastings College graduate, William Barrett ’77 is vice president, tax and trade, for Applied Materials, Inc. in Santa Clara, Calif. Applied Materials is the world’s largest producer of semiconductor manufacturing equipment with operations in more than 20 countries. Mr. Barrett is a certified public accountant and holds an MPA degree (tax specialization) from the University of Texas at Austin. He is the son of Bill Barrett, emeritus trustee and former Nebraska congressman. The Barrett Family Alumni Center at Hastings College is named in his family’s honor. Mr. Barrett was elected to the Hastings College Board of Trustees in 2007 and serves on the Budget and Finance Committee.
