Bachle named Hastings College’s first Excelsior Scholar

Seton Bachle, a junior biology major from Murdock, Neb., has been named Hastings College’s first Excelsior Scholar.
Established in 2012 to encourage independent, original undergraduate research at HC, the Excelsior Scholar Programs seek student proposals which then are judged on their academic rigor and their potential for the publication in a reviewed national journal or inclusion at a national conference. Consideration is also given to the student’s academic achievement.
With Professor of Biology Dr. Amy Morris as his faculty sponsor, Bachle will conduct his research from January through May 2013. His project is entitled “Growth of Panicum Virgatum in a NaCl Gradient”. His research will take place from January to May 2013.
Congratulations!
