The Outstanding Dissertation/Thesis Award recognizes the best dissertation or thesis in the theory and practice of argumentation and forensics completed in the previous calendar year. This year, in a field of truly extraordinary nominees, the AFA is honored to recognize Dr. Kittie E. Grace (Hastings College) for her dissertation Contesting Sphere Boundaries Online: Private/Technical/Public Discourses in Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome Discussion Groups. Dr. Grace's dissertation is not only an outstanding work of scholarship in argumentation studies but also makes important contributions to the field of health communication from a critical perspective.
