The Hastings College PHIVE-O received an Outstanding Service award for “Supporting Academics” at the Central Plains Chapter of the American Red Cross Volunteer Recognition and Annual Meeting held in Grand Island on June 28.

PHIVE-O members are Hastings College students who serve by teaching about issues surrounding HIV/AIDS issues to the campus, the community, and most recently to local high schools, middle schools and church youth groups. They also raise funds to help the Nebraska AIDS Project and organize the World AIDS Day events for the Tri-Cities area.
