Halloween Swing brings additional qualifications for nationals to Hastings College Bronco Forensics
At the Halloween Swing, hosted by the University of Nebraska-Omaha (UNO) and Doane College at UNO's campus, the Hastings College Bronco Forensics team took third place in sweepstakes on Saturday, October 27. Nationally-ranked teams such as Bradley University, Gustavus Adolphus University and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln were in attendance.
Trevor Brass, a junior from Lincoln, Neb., qualified an additional event for nationals. As freshmen, Tommy Hendrix from Omaha, Neb., and Aaron Pierce from Cozad, Neb., performed well.

Next week, HC will travel to both the L.E. Norton Tournament in Peoria, Ill., and Hutchinson Community College Tournament in Hutchinson, Kan.
*This event has now qualified for the national tournament.
**This event earned the top novice award in the category.
The Hastings College forensics team has continued a long-running tradition of national competitive success, placing in the top 20 at the American Forensics Association National Individual Events Tournament (AFA-NIET) for most of the past ten years, including 16th at AFA 2012 in San Marcos, Texas, and 18th at AFA 2011 in Kearney, Neb.
