(Hastings, Neb.) – On June 4, 2012, Jeff Dittman, Head Coach of the HC Bronco Women’s Basketball team, is stepping down from Hastings College to become Head Women’s Basketball Coach and Athletic Director at Dakota State University
“Night after night, Jeff prepared his Hastings College teams to compete in arguably the most competitive NAIA Division II conference, the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC),” said Jerry Schmutte, Athletic Director at Hastings College. “Although the College will miss his talents, this is a great opportunity for him to return to his home state and take on additional responsibilities.”
During his four years at Hastings College, Dittman amassed a 92-41 record. His tenure included three trips to the NAIA Division II Women’s Basketball Tournament and a title game appearance in 2008. He coached two All-Americans, six Academic All-Americans and five All-GPAC players.
The search for Dittman’s replacement will begin immediately.
Hastings College, founded in 1882, is a private, four-year liberal arts institution affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA). A total of 64 majors in 32 areas of study and 12 pre-professional programs are offered to more than 1,150 students. Hastings College was named among “America’s Best National Liberal Arts Colleges” by U.S. News & World Report, a “Best in the Midwest” by The Princeton Review, and a “Best Buy in College Education” by Barron’s.
