Wright and Kern elected as student leaders for Hastings College’s 2012-2013 academic year

(Hastings, Neb.) – By a margin of 52 votes, Kevin Wright and Allison Kern have been elected by their peers as the 2012-2013 Hastings College Student Association (SA) President and Vice-President, respectively.
Wright, a junior from Mansfield, Penn., and Kern, a junior from Hastings, Neb., are both biology majors.
The other ticket for SA President and Vice-President included Cassie Waldron, a junior from Fairbury, Neb., and Jake Marvin, a junior from Lincoln, Neb.
Hastings College, founded in 1882, is a private, four-year liberal arts institution affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA). A total of 64 majors in 32 areas of study and 12 pre-professional programs are offered to more than 1,150 students. Hastings College was named among “America’s Best National Liberal Arts Colleges” by U.S. News & World Report, a “Best in the Midwest” by The Princeton Review, and a “Best Buy in College Education” by Barron’s.
