(Sioux City, Iowa) – HC Media, the student-run media organization from Hastings (Neb.) College, announces an exciting moment in its history. Work by Samuel Gentry, a sophomore videographer from Lincoln, Neb., has been featured on ESPN’s popular “SportsCenter”. His video, captured on March 8, features Kortni Elsworth from Concordia University (Mich.) making an incredible three-quarter court shot at the 2012 NAIA National Women's Basketball Tournament in Sioux City, Iowa.

The clip, which had over 500 views within hours of being posted online, was originally featured on the Hastings College student-run, co-curricular tournament website www.mynaiatourney.com and on YouTube. The video began attracting the attention of NAIA and the GPAC officials, who contacted Gentry asking permission to make the clip viral. Hours later, he received word that national networks were interested in the clip. It was featured on “SportsCenter”'s Top 10 segment in the #9 slot.

Gentry is a broadcasting student at Hastings College. He is participating in Hastings College Media's media laboratory at the national tournament.

For nine years, HC Media has had a contract to provide coverage of the NAIA Division II National Women's Basketball Tournament and is committed to providing high quality, balanced, impactful journalism.

Because HC Media is a fully convergent content producer, tournament teams and games will receive attention across many platforms, including video, audio, photo and print content for the web. HC Media correspondents work during the tournament to produce video and print highlights, audio and video interviews with players and coaches, longer form feature stories and game commentary.

While teams have been preparing tenaciously for the tournament, HC Media has been workng to ensure accurate, effective tournament coverage.
