Broncos Men’s Track Team finishes fifth overall at NAIA Indoor Track Meet

(Hastings, Neb.) – The Hastings College Bronco Men’s Indoor Track Team finished fifth overall at the NAIA Indoor Track Meet in Geneva, Ohio, held March 1-3.  On March 2, Gabe Wickham, a senior from Phillipsburg, Kans., finished first with a national record-breaking throw of 21.31 m/69’ 11”.  

Additional individual results for the men’s team are as follows:
Cody Weber, a senior from Hastings, Neb.,     2nd Place, Weight Throw, 65’ 9.5”

Ronnie Taylor, a senior from Mesa, Ariz.,     2nd Place, Long Jump, 24’8.5”
Jake Holmquist, a junior from Burwell, Neb.,     3rd Place, Men’s Heptathlon
Garrett Wickham, a senior from Phillipsburg, Kans., 4th Place Weight Throw, 61’11.75”

For the HC Bronco Women’s Indoor Track Team, two competitors finished in the top ten.  Abby Griffith, a junior from Aurora, Neb., placed third in the shot put with a throw of 46’0.5” while McKayla Gowen, a sophomore from Grand Island, Neb., finished ninth in the weight throw with a toss of 53’11”.
