Women’s History Month Events at Hastings College

(Hastings, Neb.) – Hastings College will celebrate Women’s History Month throughout March with a variety of activities. All events are free and open to the public.
Temra Costa, author and sustainable food advocate
Tuesday, March 6 at 7:00 p.m. in Hazelrigg Student Union Room C
Ms. Costa will discuss her latest book, “The Roots of Women and Food: How Women are Changing the Way Our Country Eats and Farms,” and engage in a Q&A session about how women are leading the movement for local, regional and sustainable food.
Viewing of “12 Stones”
Thursday, March 8 at 12:00 p.m. in Hazelrigg Student Union Room C
On International Women’s Day, this film will illuminate the stories of women in Nepal seeking paths out of poverty and into self-reliance. Following the film, a 20-minute discussion is scheduled.
Women’s History Month Chapel Service
Wednesday, March 14 at 10:00 a.m. in French Memorial Chapel
Sigma Alpha Iota (SAI), the women’s music fraternity, will sing during this student-led service.
Celebrating Women’s History through Song
Thursday, March 29 at 7:30 p.m. in Perkins Auditorium of Fuhr Hall
This marks the 6th year SAI has conducted a recital in honor of Women’s History Month.
