(Hastings, Neb.) – Most new college presidents invite alumni and parents to campus for large receptions and for tours of new buildings.  Dennis Trotter, the 15th President of Hastings College, has been on the road with the Hastings College Hometown Express to visit alumni, parents, prospective students and friends of the College in their communities!  On Sunday, February 26, Mr. Trotter will visit Columbus and Norfolk, Neb.  The festivities kick off at 10:30 a.m. in Columbus’ Federated Church (2704 15th St.) where the HC Music Department will provide special music. Lunch will be served immediately following the service.

Later that afternoon, the HC Hometown Express will stop at Norfolk’s The Downtown Coffee Company (302 Norfolk Ave.) for a dessert reception from 3-5 p.m.

Both stops are open to the public. RSVP by Wednesday, Feb. 22 at www.hastings.edu/president.

Mr. Trotter, who became the College’s president on June 1, 2011, has begun an ongoing conversation with Nebraskans about what Hastings College means to them, their family and their community and to expand his appreciation for the College’s heritage, traditions and impact beyond campus. Previous HC Hometown Express stops have included Beatrice, Grand Island, Broken Bow, Omaha and Lincoln.

Hastings College, founded in 1882, is a private, four-year liberal arts institution affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA).
