(Hastings, Neb.) – Three Hastings College students will pursue their research passions thanks to grants from the Beta Beta Beta Research Foundation.

“The Beta Beta Beta Research Awards are intended to support undergraduate research by awarding small grants to provide seed money to start research grants,” Dr. Amy Morris, Professor of Biology, said.

Megan Puckett, a senior from Lincoln, Neb.; Mallory Suhr, a senior from Seward, Neb.; and Kevin Wright, a junior from Mansfield, Pa., received a total of $1,360 from the foundation which serves as the grantmaking arm of Beta Beta Beta (TriBeta), the national honor society for biological sciences.

In addition to receiving grant monies, Puckett and Suhr will present their research results at TriBeta’s district meeting in Kansas.

The individual research projects for which the students received funding are listed below:

Megan Puckett, a senior from Lincoln, Neb.
The effect of Triclosan on the proliferation of peritoneal tissue explants

Mallory Suhr, a senior from Seward, Neb.

Kevin Wright, a junior from Mansfield, Pa.
