(Hastings, Neb.) – Most new college presidents invite alumni and parents to campus for large receptions and for tours of new buildings. Dennis Trotter, the 15th President of Hastings College, is going on the road with the HC Hometown Express to visit alumni, parents and friends of the College in their communities! To kick off the tour, Mr. Trotter will visit Beatrice, Neb., on Sunday, Oct. 2, 2011. Lunch will be served at the First Presbyterian Church of Beatrice, starting at 11:30 a.m. All are invited. RSVP by Friday, Sept. 30 at www.hastings.edu/president.
Mr. Trotter, who became the College’s president on June 1, 2011, wants to begin an ongoing conversation with Nebraskans about what Hastings College means to them, their family and their community and to expand his appreciation for the College’s heritage, traditions and impact beyond campus.
Prior to the luncheon, President Trotter and his wife, the Rev. Trina Johnsten, will attend services at the church. During the service, several musicians, including HC Department of Music Chair Dr. Robin Koozer, will perform.
