Crash Test Dummies to be on Hastings College campus

Wellness Week to include visits by Crash Test Dummies, Nebraska State Patrol

(Hastings, Neb.) – Vince and Larry, the Crash Test Dummies, will visit the Hastings College campus on Monday, September 12nd to discuss driver safety. Joining them at Hazelrigg Student Union (705 E. 9th St.) from noon-1 p.m. will be members of the Nebraska State Patrol with one of the three Rollover Demo Simulators to demonstrate the impact of a 30 mph collision on adult and child bodies.
These appearances will kick off Wellness Week sponsored by the Hastings College’s Well Worth It Committee. The schedule for the remainder of the week is as follows:
Tuesday, September 13th 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Poker Run
Wednesday, September 14th noon-1 p.m. Blood Pressure Checks
Thursday, September 15th noon-1 p.m. Apple Eater Demonstration – Discover the eight different ways to eat an apple!
Friday, September 16th noon-1 p.m. Totally Get Into Fitness (TGIF) – Meet the campus fitness class instructors.
By providing resources and opportunities that promote a healthy lifestyle, the Well Worth It Committee encourages wellness among students, staff and faculty. This includes sponsoring fitness classes, tobacco cessation programs, a wellness newsletter and speakers on health and wellness issues.
