NCAA winningest coach, leadership academy at Hastings College
The Jim Weeks and Don Meyer Leadership Academy will be held June 10-11, 2011 at Hastings College.
Basketball legend Don Meyer is known as the winningest coach in NCAA basketball history, with a career total of 923 victories over 38 seasons. The relentless competitor, who lost most of his left leg to a car accident and was then diagnosed with inoperable cancer, spent most of the 2008-09 season coaching from a wheelchair. The Wayne, Nebraska, native now travels the country motivating others through his story.
Jim Weeks has over 400 wins as a head basketball coach and teaches a college graduate course on leadership and coaching. He has had three state basketball tournament Championships, three Runner-Ups, 12 Final Fours and 15 state tournament appearances, with final class B ranking in the top 5, 16 out of the past 17 years.
