Hastings College Recognizes Black History Month
As part of Black History Month, the Hastings College Multicultural Student Union will host a Student Round Table discussion and documentary filmmaker Jay Lathon, Nashville, Tenn., will give a talk on filmmaking, African American history and his latest project, a biography of the late Isaac Hayes.
Student Round Table – 7 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 17, Wilson Auditorium
The Multicultural Student Union presents a student round table discussion on “Being Different in a Community.” HC students will speak and answer questions. Professor of Sociology and Chair of the Department Bob Kettlitz will moderate. Refreshments will be served. Everyone is invited to attend.
Jay Lathon – 7 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 24, Wilson Auditorium
Jay Lathon, a documentary filmmaker based near Nashville, Tenn., will give a talk about documentary film making, African-American history and his current project, a documentary/biography of the late Isaac Hayes, who wrote the theme music for “Shaft.”
