Bronco Soccer Celebrates Season
Both the Hastings College Bronco Men’s and Women’s Soccer teams have returned from championship play at the 2010 NAIA National Championships held on Dec. 4.
A perfect season ends a perfect year for the 2010 NAIA Men’s Soccer National Champions. They ended their season undefeated with a school-record of 25-0 and broke a more than 30-year tournament record for the most goals scored, with 21 in five matches, including 15 in the last three games. In their seventh National Championship appearance, the Bronco Men captured the first NAIA national title for the Hastings College program, beating Notre Dame (Ohio) 5-3.
The Bronco Women advanced to the 2010 NAIA Women’s Soccer National Championship title game from a run that included upsets of the Nos. 16, 1 and 9-seeded teams. They fell to Lee University (Tenn.) 3-0 in the national title match and ended their season 2010 National Runner-Up with a record of 17-5-3.
