Hastings College to hold several holiday events for the community

Hastings College will hold several holiday events for the community, including the annual Lighting of Campus celebration and the annual Christmas Card to the Community. All events are free and the public is invited to attend.

 

Lighting of Campus
The annual Lighting of Campus festivities will take place at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 30 at French Memorial Chapel. Hear holiday stories and music, and enjoy hot chocolate, cookies and candy canes. Watch the lights come on in Circle Drive. Santa will be there too!

 

“A Christmas Card to the Community”
 Hastings College will present to the community a series of holiday performances for its annual “Christmas Card to the Community,” Dec. 2-7, 2010. All performances are free and open to the public. A free will donation for the Hastings Food Pantry will be accepted at all events.

 

A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols
7:30 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 2, French Memorial Chapel
The Hastings College Choir and Bell Choir will present the traditional Christmas musical celebration, co-sponsored by the Department of Music and the Office of the Chaplain.

 

South Central Children’s Chorale
7:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 4, French Memorial Chapel
The South Central Nebraska Children’s Chorale Concert features an auditioned group of nearly 70 singers, grades 4-8, from schools throughout South Central Nebraska.

 

Hastings College Winter Band Concert
3 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 5, Hastings Masonic Center
The annual Hastings College Winter Band Concert will offer an excellent afternoon of traditional band music along with some festive holiday favorites.

 

Choirs at Christmas
7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 7, Perkins Auditorium-Fuhr Hall
The Hastings College Men’s Choir and HC Singers will present a showcase of their semester-long repertoire in an intimate setting.
