Contemporary artist exhibit, lecture at Hastings College Art Gallery
Contemporary artist Catherine Fairbanks will present the Hastings College Art Gallery artist lecture at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 16 in the Art Gallery on campus. Her exhibition entitled “: to form :” will be featured at the gallery November 15 through December 16, 2010. The lecture is free and open to the public.
Exhibitions featuring Fairbanks’ work have been featured at numerous art galleries in California, including the San Francisco Swell Gallery, the San Francisco Art Institute, the Mission Art Center and more. A 1991 Hastings High School grad, Fairbanks earned her bachelor’s of science degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1996. In 2005, she graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Creighton University, and she received her Master of Fine Arts degree in sculpture from the San Francisco Art Institute in May 2010.
