The Hastings College Student Alumni Ambassadors and HC Does Weekends will sponsor the annual Bronco Freeze at 3 p.m., Saturday, March 6 at Lake Hastings.
The public is invited to watch HC students take the icy plunge and compete for prizes, including a Spring Break travel voucher, pizza party, cash and more. Prizes will be awarded for the most accurate guess of the lake temperature, best costume and largest group to jump in.
This is the eighth year for the fun, yet chilly HC tradition of jumping into Hastings Lake the week before Spring Break.
Billy Dunbar, Taylor, Neb., co-president of Student Alumni Ambassadors, is helping to organize the event. The HC Student Alumni Ambassadors sponsor events encouraging the HC alumni of tomorrow to take ownership of their college today and create memories to become future HC traditions.
